About Spin Magicians

Spin Magicians is a table-tennis company focused on developing the sport in the US. We have been in existence since 2006 and have served over 1,000 table-tennis players of all ages through coaching and organizing events. We have had coaching programs at schools, universities, companies, clubs, and anywhere else a table can be found and aim to provide the best coaching available. We have organized successful tournaments, leagues, round robins, junior programs, and more. Spin Magicians has also done exhibitions at various locations including schools, companies, and halftime of college basketball games. We have obtained media coverage for the sport that has never been received before and obtained sponsorships for our sport that has never been obtained before.

About The Founder

Spin Magicians Founder and President Shashin Shodhan has a wealth of experience in the sport of table-tennis. He has been actively involved in the sport for over 20 years. He has won over 15 national and international titles in various events. He took two and a half years off college (one and a half years right before the trials) to try to make the 2000 Olympic Team and qualified to represent the US at the 2000 North American Olympic Trials and narrowly lost there in his attempt to make the US Olympic Team. He has represented the US at the North American Olympic Trials in New York and Toronto, the World University Championships in Slovenia, ITTF Pro Tours in China and Sweden, and international junior opens in Taiwan, Sweden, and the US.  He has learned from some of the world's and nation's best coaches and from his own table-tennis adventures. He has been to Sweden for extended periods six times, China for extended periods five times, Germany once for 3 months, Taiwan twice for competitions, Slovenia for competition, and throughout the US.

He was born in India but moved to the US at age six. He grew up in Fremont, California and now lives in Newark, California. He graduated from Mission San Jose High School, one of the top fifty high schools in the US, in 1995 and from UC Berkeley in 2003 with a BA in computer science. He runs the Fremont Table Tennis Academy which is a full-time table-tennis academy and he is a full-time coach.
